Extension of flu vaccination programme to 50 to 64 year olds
Patients over the age of 50 will be entitled to a free flu vaccination from 1 December. We are coordinating this next phase of flu clinics and will be in contact with all eligible patients to book an appointment. Alternatively, you can book an appointment with your local Pharmacy from 1 December onwards.
Keeping you safe. Changes we have made in response to COVID-19
We are open as usual but we have made some changes to the way we work to keep you safe.
Social distancing in the building
To make sure we can maintain 2-metre social distancing in the waiting room we have limited the number of people in the building. Unfortunately, this has meant we have had keep the front door closed and use the intercom system to let you in. This may mean you will have to wait outside until there is enough room in the building. We hope to open the front door again in the spring but this will depend on guidance from NHS England.
We are offering face-to-face, video, telephone and online consultations. For face-to-face and video consultations with GPs, we ask you to book a telephone consultation first, either through reception or by booking online. A face-to-face or video consultation will be arranged if you and your doctor agree one is needed. Please see below for more details on online consultations and our digital offer.
We have a dedicated doctor and a separate area for people who need to be seen in the surgery because of symptoms that could be COVID-19. We use a separate entrance for this area and they do not enter the waiting room.
Our reception staff will call you the day before a prebooked appointment to ask if you have a temperature, persistent cough or have lost your sense of smell or taste. If you have any of these symptoms, we will ask you to rebook your appointment.
In addition, everyone who enters the building has a temperature check and we ask everyone in the building to wear a facemask. All our healthcare professionals wear PPE for all consultations as recommended by Public Health England.
